This movie showed the great influence of media. In the movie, it was like the radio controlling all the Hutus. The relay convinced the Hutus to kill all the Tutis or they will be killed by them. This isn't the truth. Most of the Tutis were unarmed. How can they fight back? It is nonsense, but the radio station successfully led the Hutus to hatred and inspired them to cause genocide. Amazingly, only one quote can convince the whole society.
Paul was a brave man who even left his family and went to care the Rwanda people. If I was in that case, I wouldn't have done anything but wait to die. If Paul wasn't there for the people, all could have died there in Rwanda. Here is Paul caring his people with all his heart and we, as in others that are out in the world, do nothing. It was a shock that a tribes war has lasted quite long and people were ignorant with what was happening in Rwanda. What a shame. The Europeans had the power to stop the war or at least rescue the people in the hotel, but they only saved their people and fleed. What is this? Racial discrimination? It was like neglecting Paul's efforts. In conclusion, I saw how media can be powerful in many ways, controlling the whole society and that we should have more attention in what is going on in this chaotic world.

Hotel Rwanda
It was very shocking to me when I watched the video and the news. How can this terrible traumatic event can occur and be ignored? 800,000 people, which is 10% of Rwanda's population, were murdered in 100 days. It was a tribalwar between the Hutus and the Tutsis like the Korean War, where North and South Korea fought against each other, but the war in Rwanda had an unbelievable death rate. What word can replace the word "genocide?" The word "genocide" would perfectly match and explain this massacre. The president of Rwanda died in a mystery, where a missile shoots down his plane. Reasonalby, it would have been the Hutu's plans because after the president was dead they immediately took control of the government. It's like a revenge from the Hutus to the Tutis because in the past, the Tutis killed the Hutu's president. However, this is worthless; killing the same tribes and resulting in nothing. Revenge leads to nothing but chaos. On the other hand, the reason why that I don't get this fight could be because it have never happened to me and as it was said from the reporter in the movie, "people watch this news, and go back to eat dinner, thinking it's one of those things that happens in that part of the world." I agree. I have never experienced this before and definetly think that it should occur once in a while in the world but never on me. I take it natural. I am ignorant. For this reason, I can't insult other countries that were ignorant, but they were too ignorant to let millions of innocent people to die. It was shocking to see that the French Army came to save their own people and leave, leaving all the Rwanda people behind. Again, the racisim problem. No matter how small and obsure the land was, and no matter how much blacks there were, other countries were responsible to cease the fight, but they chose to be ignorant and acted like they were irresponsible for the fight. Blacks are still human being who lives in earth like the others, so they have no reason to be discriminated. This inspired me to think about what is going around the world right now. Anytime, anywhere unexpected events may happen; therefore, we should come together and help each other.

English 10E Poetry
The Eagle (a Fragment)
Alfred, Lord Tennyson
He clasps the crag with crooked hands;Close to the sun in lonely lands, Ring'd with the azure world, he stands.
The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls; He watches from his mountain walls, And like a thunderbolt he falls.

I like this poem because it's simple and short. Most of all, it describes an eagle's life and habits very well and descriptively. It's like me actually watching this eagle right now. I can imagine easily what the eagle is doing. The eagle that can soar high up in the blue sky stands on a crag above the sea, watching the flow of the sea and dives like a thunderbolt. Then the eagle would have fly high. Eagle is a symbol of dream to me. Eagles soar high up in the sky like heading towards a dream and never falls.
